Repair, Maintenance, and Cleaning
Like all other types of technology, your work is not done after the installation of a Solar Power System. Periodic inspection, maintenance, and cleaning are all part of a package when you decide to switch to solar. We provide all these facilities as part of our routine maintenance services to ensure your power system keeps running efficiently.
If your solar PV system was installed by a third-party, we can always service and repair them. However, we currently do not repair ‘Solar Thermal Systems’ which are not installed by Solar Sale USA.
If your solar system is operating to its standards, you still need to inspect it to ensure no problems arise in the future. We all love surprises but not the bad kind.
Periodic Solar Inspection List
If you’re a big fan of DIY, the good news is that some inspection tasks can be managed on your own. The bad news is not all of the tasks can be managed individually or by watching YouTube tutorials. For some complicated components, you need a qualified technician to inspect your system.
We’ve discussed a list of frequent problems that can hinder the performance of your solar system and need to be checked regularly.
- Shading of Solar Panel Corrector
Plant and vegetation growth over your solar panel can shade your solar panel and affect the performance of your solar collector. Keep an annual check on it.
- Soiling of the Collector
If you live in a dry and dusty area, you may experience soiled solar panels. In this case, make sure the panels are cleaned periodically at regular intervals.
- Checking of Collector Glazing and Seals
Collector glazing and seals can crack, therefore you need to check if they are in good condition to keep up the performance of your Solar Panels. If you have plastic glazing which has turned yellow, it may need to be replaced.
- Wire Connections
Wire connections may experience wear and tear. Ensure all the wiring is tight and free from corrosion.
- Insulation of Piping, Duct, and Wiring
Damaged insulation can in turn damage piping, duct and wiring. Make sure it is always intact.
- Penetrations in Roof
Ceilings can develop leaks and need to be immediately spotted and fixed.
- Support Structures
Since Solar Panel systems are essentially installed outdoor, its support structure can get damaged and slip due to wind and other weather conditions. Keep an eye out for loose nuts and bolts or any other factors impacting the tightness of the structure.
